1003-3631 Realistic STA-2300 Receiver First, did you know that this receiver was made by Fostex for Realistic? Yup, you bet. This was certainly the 'big boy' offered by Radio Shack until 1982 when things started to get 'digity'. At 120 watts per channel this receiver doesn't have to dig deep to get some serious power. We had this bad boy happily playing through a set of Mach 1's and let's just say it was nice the neighbors like classic rock…and they were 6 houses down the road… Alright, so let's get to the real bones on this beast. Tons of power? Check. Tons of inputs? Check. Ease of operation? Check. Style and cosmetics? Really good. As some of these items are 30 + years old there are going to be some marks here and there. In the case of the 2300, the face and controls are dang near perfect however the wood sides may need a bit of attention as they are just faded - NOT chipped or gouged. On the 'net I have seen prices for these units at a modest $300.00 (craigslist) and even some $400.00+ 'deals' on Canuck Audio mart but some guy on eBay takes the cake - $600.00. Ok, so we have ours with a full 30 day warranty, completely checked and serviced, cleaned and detailed for a measly I think we may need to up the price a bit… SOLD "Click on pictures to supersize" |
