1003-3650 Pioneer SX-727 Receiver First, gold faced Pioneer receivers are not that common. Are they "rare"? Well, that depends. It was often rumored that gold faced receivers were part of an un-heralded 'anniversary edition' series that were offered to dealers but so far I have not been able to substantiate this. What we do know is that they are very, very difficult to find either on the internet or anywhere else for that matter. Needless to say, they do look great. The entire face is gold with burnished knobs. This receiver in fact is a great unit for a second system or cabin. It comes with one set of those pesky speaker connectors often seen on other Pioneer and Akai receivers so if you wanted to use a second set of speakers, pony up for another pair of jacks. Offering a decent 40 watts per channel, this unit can easily drive a wide array of speakers to fit virtually any setting and offers enough inputs to satisfy the 'gear junky' in your house.
