Pioneer CLD-99 Elite Laser Disc Player

Pioneer Elite gear has always drawn stares and pleasing comments from nearly all that have seen them. Elite products are the type that look really, really good just sitting there - doing nothing - not even plugged in.

Although not made anymore with the coveted 'Urushi finish' or Rosewood panels Pioneer still makes a few products bearing the Elite name and by and large, are still very good.

Collectors the world over (including me) have lusted after the 'older' style Elite products with the aforementioned Urushi finish and rosewood panels for years. Some are getting really hard to find while others almost impossible (Like the elite PL-90 turntable). The CLD-99 is crowned as Pioneer's best laser disc player. At least on this continent. Often getting obscene prices on internet auctions these laser disc players are often sought after by collectors and videophiles and have proven themselves over time. Yes I know, laser discs are dead, right? WRONG! Simply watch a laser disc movie through this machine and you be the judge.

Some examples of the CLD-99 have been seen selling for up to $900.00+ through online auctions untested and sold 'as is'. With the exception of not having a remote our CLD-99, this unit has been fully tested and calibrated, cleaned and tested again. This is simply a beautiful example of what audio / video equipment should look like (my own humble opinion).
