Ok, I know I'm a few days late for writing this month's intro - sorry, but I have a really good excuse; I just got back from Calgary after driving out there for a few days and brought a truck load of goodies with me! Yup, you read that right - CALGARY! What some might not know is that Calgary, and other areas of Alberta are virtual treasure troves for audio nuts! I had the chance to not only check quite a few of these places out, but also to stop in at Wade's place - That Old Retro Store in Calgary- to see first hand what the vintage audio business was like out there. Wade has a great place, full of cool stuff and lots of eye candy to make the stop worthwhile. If you ever visit Calgary, you gotta check out this shop. In addition to visiting family and shops like Wade's, I also took delivery of over 500 10 ½ metal reel tapes that we now have in our shop for sale! Oh yes, trekking this load through the mountains was certainly an experience BUT they are now here! (I also bought a cool air hockey table but that's another story!) So, it may take a few days to through all of the items that were brought back and have them 'floor ready' but these are really great items. In addition, I also bought a few hundred CD's to stock up our collection in the record room so check those out while you're here! As mentioned last month, the 4th Annual Vintage Audio and Record garage sale date has now been confirmed. We will be hosting this great FREE event again this year on June 12th, 2011. Attendance last year was incredible, even with the bit of rain that fell ever so briefly! Both buyers and sellers had a really great time and the band Trama rocked the place with great tunes all afternoon. Click here for more details and information!
